5-Minute Chronic Migraine Relief: SphenoCath

In the video below, Dr. Stephens explains the 5-minute, minimally invasive SphenoCath procedure. SphenoCath is also known as an SPG block, or a sphenopalatine ganglion nerve block treatment.

The sphenopalatine ganglion (SPG) is a collection of nerve cells located just under the tissue lining the back of the nose area. By applying a local anesthetic to these cells, nerve impulses can be temporarily blocked. Most patients experience immediate relief.

About the SphenoCath Procedure for Chronic Migraine Relief

The SphenoCath system was developed by Dolor Technologies. It allows for chronic migraine relief through the nasal passages WITHOUT needles, sprays, swabs, or sedation. The secret is a retractable angled end piece that can reach past the "shelves" in the nose to apply Lidocaine directly to the SPG nerve cells.

First, your physician will apply Lidocaine to your nasal passages with a Q-tip. All you need to do is sniff in as much anesthetic as possible. Now, you're ready for the treatment.

Your physician will fill a syringe with a Lidocaine solution. The syringe will NOT actually enter your nose - it only puts Lidocaine in the SphenoCath tube. The SphenoCath then enters your nose, injects the Lidocaine into each nostril (no needles), and you're finished!

Approximately 85% of our patients respond immediately to this treatment. Learn more about SphenoCath by contacting Dr. Stephens or calling (817) 518-1112!
