On June 19, 2018, Dr. Chad Stephens gave a presentation on treatment for chronic tendinopathy using TenJet by HydroCision. The event included a breakdown of the procedure, followed by an external demonstration.

Noble Pain Management & Sports Medicine is helping to pioneer this chronic tendinopathy treatment and make it available in more states and clinics. Dr. Chad Stephens assisted in the development of the TenJet technology, and we were the first clinic in Texas to use TenJet for hip pain!

Here's an overview of Dr. Stephens's presentation:

How TenJet works as a treatment for chronic tendinopathy

TenJet is a specially designed needle that uses ultrasonic guidance to wash away unhealthy tissue from the tendon. The stream of water is gentle and effective, removing dead tissue without harming healthy tissue.

It's a minimally invasive procedure that can be performed in-office as well as in the OR under general anesthesia, according to the patient's preference.

How the procedure works

  1. A local anesthetic is applied to numb the affected area.
  2. A supersonic stream of water is activated to remove the scar tissue, while sparing healthy tissue.
  3. TenJet is a needle-like device that is guided to the scar tissue under ultrasound vision.
  4. The needle site is closed with a small bandage
