Safety Information

wePatient safety is a priority of the staff—our goal is to ensure that your office visit is a safe one. Please assist us by cooperating, obeying instructions, reporting any safety hazards, and encouraging visitors to obey the rules.

We believe that patient identification is essential to providing a safe healthcare environment. For this reason, our staff will verify your name and age before starting any tests, procedures, or before administering any medications. We want you to be safety conscious during your stay as well. If you are unsure about a medication or procedure, please ask questions. The staff is ready and willing to assist you; your safety and health are our main concerns.

Handguns

State law prohibits carrying a handgun on healthcare premises. Pursuant to Section 30.06, Penal Code (trespass of holder of license to carry a concealed handgun), a person licensed under article 4413 (29cc), Revised Statutes (concealed handgun law) may not enter our property with a concealed handgun.

Personal Electronics

For reasons of safety, no personal electrical devices such as laptops, electronic books, radios, gaming systems, or DVD players are permitted in patient areas. Such items may not be compatible with the sensitive medical equipment found in our offices.

Cellular Phones and other Electronic Devices

In an effort to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all patients, please do not use cellular phones or other electronic devices in the office. Cellular phones, cordless phones, citizen band radios, as well as equipment and games operated by radio remote control are not permitted for use inside the office because they may interfere with medical equipment. Cellular phones must be turned completely off because the devices can transmit even in standby mode. If you must use your cellular phone, please do so outside of the office entrance. Thank you for your cooperation.

Designated Smoking Areas

Patients, visitors, and staff may only smoke in the designated smoking areas.

Fire Drill

For your protection, we conduct fire and disaster drills regularly. If a drill occurs during your visit, please remain calm and do not become alarmed. We are located in a fire-resistant building, and the staff is trained in fire protection.

Condition Reports

Any personal information about your diagnosis and treatment must come from your physician, and this information is only available to members of your immediate family or whom you designate to receive it.
